by Shari Schmidt)

Every year we resolve to help our girls find books they can't wait to read. We're really motivated during the beginning of the year, but it wanes when it becomes harder to find appropriate books. The wonderful Children's Book Council has a new website to help us stay motivated throughout 2014. Be sure to bookmark it so it can help you help your children -- either in your own house or in your classroom.

We’ve just unveiled a brand-new version of the Children’s Book Council’s site at, and wanted to share some exciting features that will help you find the perfect books for the kids and teens in your lives, and provide you with the best in children’s book and literacy news & events!

· Under our Reading Lists, a new section details all the previous winners and finalists of the Children’s Choice Book Awards, the only national book awards program where the winning titles are chosen by kids and teens (over 1,000,000 votes were cast online last year!)
