Children's Book Council Can Help You Find the Best Books for Kids and Teens

(from chicagonow.com

Every year we resolve to help our girls find books they can't wait to read. We're really motivated during the beginning of the year, but it wanes when it becomes harder to find appropriate books. The wonderful Children's Book Council has a new website to help us stay motivated throughout 2014. Be sure to bookmark it so it can help you help your children -- either in your own house or in your classroom.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’ve just unveiled a brand-new version of the Children’s Book Council’s site at www.cbcbooks.org, and wanted to share some exciting features that will help you find the perfect books for the kids and teens in your lives, and provide you with the best in children’s book and literacy news & events!

· We now have a search function for all of our popular reading lists and round-ups. As you can see, there are new options to search by age, format, genre, theme, and by Children’s Choice Book Awards winners.

· A new showcase on our home page features diverse children’s and YA titles (curated by CBC Diversity).

· Under our Reading Lists, a new section details all the previous winners and finalists of the Children’s Choice Book Awards, the only national book awards program where the winning titles are chosen by kids and teens (over 1,000,000 votes were cast online last year!)

Continued features include:

· Hot off the Press – our unique online bibliography features anticipated bestsellers, either recently released or forthcoming

· Seasonal Showcase – our quarterly thematic reading list for all ages (this month’s theme is New Grade Here I Come!)

· Kid Lit News – the best in children’s and young adult literature and literacy news!

· Kid Lit Events – fun children's and young adult literature events from coast to coast!

Also be sure to check out:

· Our detailed FAQs section designed to help aspiring authors and illustrators, non-member publishers, and more visitors to our site find the information they need

· Online newsletter sign-up for both members and the kid lit community at large
