Writers Forum Meeting, Jan 11: Poemcrazy: Freeing Your Life With Words – A talk/workshop with Susan Wooldridge

(from anewscafe.com
press release)

Susan will talk about her journals and her writing process, then we'll begin to write about who we are, where we come from and where we’re going. In a safe setting, poems or prose snippets will emerge that surprise and delight us. Sharing work is optional. Bring scratch paper, pens and a few books of poems.

Susan teaches creativity and writing workshops throughout the U.S. This is the eleventh year of her series of Northern California rural library workshops sponsored by Poets and Writers

Organization and the California Center for the Book. Susan has worked in over 60 California libraries and her workshops have been featured inPoets and Writer's Magazine.

Susan’s book, poemcrazy: freeing your life with words (Three Rivers, Random House), is in a twenty-fifth printing. Anne Lamott wrote, “This is a wonderful book—smart, wide-eyed, joyful, helpful, inspiring. You’re going to love it, and love writing poetry more for having read it.” An audio version of poemcrazy is now available at Audible.com. Susan’s more recent book Foolsgold: Making Something from Nothing (and Freeing Your Creative Process), published by Harmony ( Random House) was both a Quality Paperback Book Club and a One Spirit Book Club selection. Rachel Naomi Remen wrote that “it’s a book that may save your life.” Susan’s chapbook of poems, Bathing with Ants, was published by Bear Star Press. www.susanwooldridge.com
