What’s Your Favorite Animal? A Benefit for the Home For Picture Book Art

(from bookpatrol.net)

To benefit the  The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art , Henry Holt and Company and 14 ”heroes of picture book art” have joined forces for the new book, What’s Your Favorite Animal?

“The idea of getting some of the world’s most talented and beloved picture book creators to contribute to a book that benefits a museum celebrating the art of the picture book was just too perfect. We could not be more excited to be part of bringing this book to life,” says Jonathan Yaged, president of the Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, which includes Henry Holt.

The illustrious list of illustrators include Nick Bruel, Eric Carle, Lucy Cousins, Susan Jeffers, Steven Kellogg, Jon Klassen, Tom Lichtenheld, Peter McCarty, Chris Raschka, Peter Sís, Lane Smith, Erin Stead, Rosemary Wells, and Mo Willems.

These are the people who, if you’re a parent, are responsible for bringing a smile to our kids faces, and most of our faces, on a nightly basis. I also know that many of the books created by these artists have gotten me through some pretty eventful evenings with the kids.

There will be also celebration of the book featuring the original illustrations. Eric Carle and Friends: What’s Your Favorite Animal? at the museum in April, 2014.

Families are also encouraged to  submit drawings of their favorite animals for digital display
in the gallery.

Book available here.
