Universal to Double Size of Space for Harry Potter

AP-Universal Orlando Resort is doubling the park space devoted to Harry Potter with its new Diagon Alley attraction opening this summer.

But Diagon Alley's location will require tickets for two theme parks if guests want to see both the new and original Harry Potter areas.

Diagon Alley will open at the Universal Studios park. The original Wizarding World of Harry Potter is at Universal's Islands of Adventure park.

The areas will be connected by a train called Hogwarts Express, but a two-park ticket will be required — currently $136.32 for one day for ages 10 and up.

Theme park executives said Thursday Diagon Alley will offer "theatrical reality" with richly detailed shops based on characters in the books, plus eateries such as Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour and the Leaky Cauldron.
