For those of you who do not know, a drabble is a story told in 100 words exactly. I was inspired by the post I did yesterday about the Drabble Advent Calender. I also picked up "100 One Hundred Word Tales" by Jonathan Hill today. (I purchased it on Amazon for $1.51). So I hope to share that review with you when I am done reading it. But I have a feeling this is going to be a new obsession of mine.
Hope for the Holidays by Melissa Grabowski
The decorations are up. Inside and outside say the holidays are here. But if you look carefully, you can see the house is in disrepair. Then the discussion comes about spending for the holidays. And it takes away a bit of the beauty and fun. You hope and pray it will work out like it does every year. Somehow it just does. After all, it is the fun in buying even one gift for someone you love. We listen to the festive Christmas music, and we delight in the time we spend together with family we do not see often.
That's a great first drabble, Melissa! Hope you enjoy the book. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! As soon as I wrote it I wanted to write a lot more :) They are like Potato chips aren't they? (cannot just have one). It was inspiration from the Advent Calender plus Michael Brookes who first told me about them. But that is a very nice compliment. I plan to write more and I would have read the book last night if I felt good. It will be done very soon :)
DeleteNice drabble :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I would not know anything about a drabble if it was not for you. In fact, I found the advent calender by going to your blog, which you know I love. So you had a hand in this too. I hope to keep writing them. I have two horror ones brewing . ;)
