Review of "How Would You Fight A Lion" by Jasmine Schwartz

I was confused at first. I actually contacted the author to ask her a few questions and she was more than happy too answer. I have read two short stories before by Melissa previously and they were good. At the end of one short story was the first few chapters to one of her novels. I find out that she writes these short stories in between about our girl Melissa and they will make more sense once I have read even one of the novels. Which I plan to do asap.

This story mainly focused on Melissa an her new job (sucks) and new boss Eddie(rude). She was fired from her last job for stealing of which she was innocent.

She is the Executive Assistant to the man, Eddie, who runs the company she now works for and so she gets to watch him humiliate people that come in for job interviews and get blamed for things the last assistant screwed up.

On the love front, she happens to catch up with the boss's son Caleb and they hit it off pretty well. And there is another man in the picture.

In the middle of all of this, she is getting texted by someone who says her boss is a murderer. She thought it was a prank but she kept getting messages. She finally meets the guy who sent the texts because he had been following her. He knows something but is not telling and Melissa, who believes the coronor's report (or does she?) that it was suicide. The man who believes that Eddie's wife was murdered, will not leave Melissa alone. So she has to deal with that.

I do not want to give to much away, even though this is a short story. There are highlights that I am not going to mention. Also, at the end you can read the beginning of "Fakakt: Melissa Morris and the Meaning of Sex". That stared out good so I would like to get that book also.

What is Melissa to do? You will have to read to find out.
