'Alive' Book Trailer Brings To Mind 'The Walking Dead'

(from usatoday.com

Friends,

Oh, man … will the weather ever lighten up? I'm getting mighty sick of the constant falling of something from the sky. I find myself crawling under a blanket with my daughter, and while she enjoys a good Thea Stilton mystery, I wrap myself up with a good romance. On my Kindle right now? First to Burn by Anna Richland — I am really loving her immortal Vikings!

I am eagerly awaiting the return of The Walking Dead on Sunday (along with a gazillion other people), so when I saw a book trailer for a zombie, post-apocalyptic romance, I was ready. The trailer for Alive by Megan D. Martin is c-r-e-e-p-y and sexy and compelling. The music, the rough typewriter font with slashes of blood-red accents and script just blew me away. And then when I was already sucked in by all of that, the last line hooked me: "Can Eve keep her heart safe from the man who broke it … and the undead trying to eat it?" I don't know about you, but I've got to know.

The trailer for In Like a Lion by Karin Shah is short, but it packs a lot into its time. The imagery and script simply portray the story and the characters — a fun paranormal with a chimera as the hero — but the music is what grabbed me. Exotic and sensuous, it perfectly wraps all the elements into a cohesive package.

I am a sucker for a fated-lovers story, and Queen of Swords by Nina Mason is one big mash-up of vampires, witches, dark warlocks and seductresses. The soundtrack is driving and infectious, the lyrics pitch perfect for the story, the images and script completely drawing you into the plot. Well done!
