What Does One Do On A Snowy Day?

What does one do on a snowy day? Well, if you are me, and you are lucky, you feel a little better than the previous four days. You are happy you were well enough to get your Christmas tree yesterday. You are happy you do not have to do any traveling. That your husband is off on vacation and home safe. You are happy that most of your relatives do not have far to travel even if they do have to go out. You are happy to open the package that came yesterday which you ordered (and with my luck I never have to order a book but I felt I owed it to myself) American Gods by Neil Gaiman. You are happy to have a great coffee maker with some great brands of coffee and awesome creamers, and some hot chocolate too. You think about taking a long walk in the snow hand and hand with your husband later. Boy do we love the snow! The forecast is varying. We do not care we say "Keep it coming!".

We think to letting the dog out and how much he loves the snow. Nino is all of seven pounds but tries so hard to plow through the snow like he is a big wolf. Then he freaks out when he comes in all wet. Before we can try to dry him off he runs laps around the dining room table and couch jumps. Couch jumping is jumping from each of our two couches, one to the other non-stop. If it was a sport for animals, he would be the Peyton Manning or someone similar of couch jumping for sure!

I think that I am glad I am the one to buy the winter gear. All the boots and the jackets that repel the snow. Or a certain spouse would be very wet right now.

Best of all, there is a little bit of decorating left to do. All the more fun to decorate with the blinds open and the snow gently falling. And it is definitely a read a book day. Everyday is a read a book day but today, if things are going to be cancelled and it is not really weather for traveling, I will be catching up on my reading.

The vision I always have in my head is a big soft leather chair with nice fixtures on the arms. A kind of chair that although it is leather it is soft leather so that you sink into it. And the chair is sitting by a fireplace in a big room that is already warm. There is a beautiful carpet that takes up most of the room on the floor. There is a huge library behind me. I sit on the chair in my pretend room in my pretend house and it is snowing out. My dog is in his own bed by my feet. A small but ornamental light is on right next to me on the beautiful end table. I have my light blue snowflake fleece pants on, big fluffy socks, and my light blue matching fleece pullover to keep warm. And I have a hugs fleece Steelers blanket next to me in case it gets to chilly. Then I do not have to fiddle with the thermostat or throw another log on the fire I can just curl up a bit more. The light is on a soft wattage and I have a hardcover book and a cup of coffee piping hot. This is where I am at in my head when I am reading any book. It is where I am going now. Come and join me. I am sure there is another chair in this big room. If not, we will find one for you.

(no not quite what I described but after searching through tons of pictures, this just gave the comfy warm vibe to me)
