When I met the charming duo behind Idiot's Books many years ago at a comics convention, I thought, These guys have it all figured out.
Comprised of writer Matthew Swanson and illustrator Robbi Behr, the married collaborators crank out amusing, smart and wonderfully unique products on a near-monthly basis. Over the years I've treasured their lovingly hand-crafted books like The Baby is Disappointing, The Last of the Real Small Farmers and Understanding Traffic. It's been exciting to see them expand, too; last year Chronicle published their Ten Thousand Stories, and a few years ago their cool "One Page Wonders" project was posted on Tor.com.
Matthew and Robbi recently did a TEDx presentation where they explained why their creative partnership works and how to get the most out of your own collaborations. I found it to be very insightful, and I encourage you to take a look.
