Eight USA TODAY and New York Times best-selling and award-winning authors have joined storytelling efforts in Dark & Deadly: Eight Bad Boys of Paranormal Romance boxed set on sale now for a limited time at 99 cents! Featuring Jennifer Ashley, Alyssa Day, Felicity Heaton, Erin Kellison, Laurie London, Erin Quinn, Caris Roane and Bonnie Vanak, this boxed set offers eight unique stories with alpha-male bad boys who will fulfill your darkest, most deadliest desires … but only if you dare.

HEA asked the authors to tell us a little about their stories and what intrigued them most when they wrote it.

Erin Quinn, author of The Forbidden Life of Alex Moore

In The Forbidden Life of Alex Moore, my never-before-released novella, a sentry from the Beyond comes to the human world to clean up the stray hellhound problem — but along with the hellhounds, he encounters Lilly, the woman he'd never dared to dream of and he is forever changed by both her love and her view of the world. What I loved about writing this story is the interplay between my human female, Lilly, and Alex Moore, the soldier from the Beyond (a place that encompasses heaven, hell and everything in between). Lilly shows Alex how humanity encompasses more than DNA while she teaches him the power of love. Find out more at www.ErinQuinnBooks.com.

Alyssa Day, author of Alejandro's Sorceress

Alejandro's Sorceress, my never-before-released novella, is finally here! After a life lived in the darkness, warrior Alejandro deserved some sunshine. So I gave him a funny witch with a crazy family, so he could fall in love with all of them and finally have a home and love of his own. I tend to write very dark and deadly heroes, and I loved the chance to put a lethal warrior in a funny situation and see what happened. The results were hilarious — and hot! Bonnie Vanak, author of The Mating Heat

The Mating Heat is the prequel to my Werewolves of Montana series and reveals the reason why Aiden started his wolf pack in Montana. Kara, his sister, was badly mistreated by their father and she returns to their former pack to find that Ryder, the wolf she loved, is now alpha and he desires her as his mate. What I liked best about The Mating Heat is that Ryder sees into the heart of Kara and thinks she's beautiful despite her disfiguring injury. And when these two get together, watch out, the heat gets pretty intense! Find out more at www.bonnievanak.com.

Caris Roane, author of Trapped

What if only one woman could satisfy the chronic blood-starvation needs of a mastyr vampire? The moment I framed this question, I was hooked. How would such a woman feel about being uniquely gifted? Trapped showcases Alesia's dilemma when it turns out that her ex-boyfriend, Zephyr, a famous warrior and mastyr vampire, has suddenly started craving her blood as he never has before. She tries to hold him at bay, but he was always the one man who, with a single kiss, could curl her toes. But how can she build a life with a man whose warrior ways go against everything she believes? Find out more at www.carisroane.com.

Erin Kellison, author of Darkness Falls

Darkness Falls, my never-before-released novella, is the first in my new Reveler series in which shared dreaming offers a sensual and dark new world to explore. Malcolm Rook is tasked with recruiting talented Jordan Lane to Chimera, the agency that polices shared dreams. In the dream milieu, it's hard to fight impulse and attraction, and the connection between Rook and Jordan is nothing less than electric. I'm fascinated with Other worlds, and one day it occurred to me that I visit another world every time I close my eyes to sleep. I wondered what it would be like to share dreams (hot!) and what kind of dangers might exist there as well. Find out more at www.ErinKellison.com.

Laurie London, author of Rogue's Passion

Rogue's Passion, book two in my Iron Portal series, is about two very different worlds battling it out in an age-old war for supremacy. Iron Guild warrior Asher Kane, tasked with protecting Cascadia, is on a mission of vengeance. While trying to find out who killed his friend, he is injured in an explosion in Pacifica and nursed back to health by a mysterious woman with psychic healing powers. Like Erin, I, too, am fascinated by other worlds. In this case, Cascadia is medieval-like, allowing me to work in my horse knowledge, while Pacifica is a slightly futuristic New Seattle, changed when a giant earthquake struck the area many years ago. Jennifer Ashley, author of Bodyguard

Bodyguard is a short novel of the New York Times bestselling Shifters Unbound series. Return to the Austin Shiftertown for the story of Ronan, a Kodiak bear Shifter, who rescues Elizabeth, a young shop owner, from a robber. When Elizabeth becomes the target of a vendetta, Ronan takes her to Shiftertown for safekeeping, becoming her 24/7 bodyguard. Elizabeth chafes at the confinement, but can't help admiring Ronan, the huge man who fosters unwanted Shifters, and protects everyone around him. Ronan, on his part, knows he shouldn't fall for a human, but the sassy Elizabeth starts arousing his mating frenzy.

Shifters Unbound is an ongoing series about alpha shapeshifters and the women who love them. The world is a little bit gritty, a little bit funny, a little bit dangerous, and a whole lot romantic. Find out more at www.jennifersromances.com.

Felicity Heaton, author of Bewitch

Bewitch is a novel in the Vampire Erotic Theatre paranormal romance series. A part-vampire part-incubus with a bloodstained past, Payne is perfect in his self-control, never surrendering to his darkest desires and always denying his incubus side, but when a mission to help a friend brings him to a shadowy fae town and a beautiful witch, his long-denied hungers are reawakened and the key to fulfilling his mission is within his reach — if he is willing to do the impossible. Elissa is determined to take back something that was stolen from her, and when a gorgeous part-incubus vampire saves her from a fight, she discovers he is the answer to fulfilling both of their promises — if she can only convince him to embrace his incubus side.

What I loved about writing Bewitch was writing Payne as he unburdened his heart and found a way to accept a part of himself he had always despised, and faced the darker moments in his past that had formed him into the man he had become, and it was all because of Elissa and the way she understood him, knew how to carefully handle him, and constantly refused to give up on him.
